Sticks and Stones Was a Lie: Why Words Carry Frequency and Shape Your Reality

They told us words couldn't hurt us. They were wrong. And the universe has receipts.
We all heard it growing up. The moment someone said something cruel, an adult would swoop in with the phrase meant to protect us: sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me. It was meant as armor. A shield. A way to rise above.
But here's what nobody told us: it was a lie. And not a small one.
Bones heal. Words don't just disappear. Words carry frequency. They get absorbed - into your nervous system, your identity, your inner world. They become part of the story you tell yourself, the frequency you operate on, and ultimately, the reality you create. This is the conversation I've been wanting to have for a long time, and it is one of the most important episodes and posts of the Cosmic Guidance series yet.
Words Carry Frequency. Full Stop.
Everything holds a frequency. Every thought. Every word. Every emotion. This isn't just spiritual philosophy - it is the operating system of the universe.
When someone says something harmful to you, or when you say something harmful to yourself, you don't just hear it and move on. That word, that phrase, that moment lands in your body. It creates a feeling. And that feeling pulls you onto what I call the negative frequency highway - a momentum of thought that, once you're on it, is incredibly difficult to exit.
Think of it like a train. Once that train gets moving, it doesn't stop easily. Your attention leaves the room. Your awareness of the present moment dissolves. And you are just going - carried along by a narrative that may have nothing to do with where you actually want to end up.
That is the real damage of "sticks and stones." It told generations of people to suppress, dismiss, and push past the very signals their bodies were giving them about energetic harm. And we are still unraveling that.
Your Inner World Creates Your Outer World
As above, so below. Your inner world is a mirror of your outer experience. What you believe about yourself - truly, deeply believe - is what your reality will organize itself around.
This is where self-talk becomes one of the most powerful forces in your life. Your mind is not judging your thoughts. It is not filtering them for accuracy. It is simply matching your reality to whatever frequency you are consistently broadcasting.
Tell yourself you are not worthy? Your brain will agree. It will arrange circumstances, filter opportunities, and shape your perception to confirm exactly that belief. Not because the universe is cruel - but because it is literal. It gives you what you're on the frequency of receiving.
This is also why identity shifting is the phrase I keep coming back to. Not shape shifting. Not reinvention for reinvention's sake. Identity shifting - a deep, internal recalibration of who you believe yourself to be. And it starts with what is happening inside your own mind.
"Your inner patterns determine how you move through life. They shape your entire life experience."
The Hive Mind, The Frequency Highway, and Why Your Environment Matters
You are not just managing your own thoughts in isolation. You are constantly absorbing the frequency of everyone and everything around you.
Walk into a room where tension is running high - you feel it before anyone says a word. Step into a stadium full of people united by joy - you get swept into something larger than yourself. This is hive mind energy in action. And it is neutral. It can lift you or it can pull you under, depending on the field you are stepping into.
This is why I am deliberate - almost ruthlessly so - about what I consume, who I spend time with, what I watch, what I listen to, and what I allow into my energetic field. It is not elitism. It is frequency stewardship. A frequency mismatch is not a moral judgment. It is simply a signal that the alignment is not there, and it is okay to move on.
We are living in the era of Pluto in Aquarius - a time that calls us to be individuals within the collective. You get to choose your groups. You get to decide which communities move you forward. Your experience on this Earth is yours. Protect it accordingly.
Eternal Vigilance: The Practice of Catching Your Thought Trains
Here is the phrase I return to again and again: eternal vigilance is the price of freedom.
Freedom from negative thought loops. Freedom from inherited stories that were never yours to carry. Freedom from the frequency of unworthiness, self-doubt, jealousy, and blame that keeps so many people stuck in cycles they cannot seem to exit.
Eternal vigilance does not mean perfection. I am not Miss Sunshine every day. There are days I am fully on the negative frequency train and it is moving. The practice is not to never board the train. The practice is to catch yourself when you do.
The moment you notice - the moment you pause and say wait, where is this train going and is this where I want to end up - that is the moment everything changes. That pause is the practice. That awareness is the work.
Some tools that support this:
Journaling mantras - I write them like lines on a blackboard, filling pages before I begin my morning practice. I am feeding my brain the direction I need it to go.
EFT tapping - a powerful somatic tool for shifting stuck emotional frequencies
Mindset work - not toxic positivity, but genuine, consistent inner recalibration
Energetic boundaries - being selective about what you watch, who you engage with, and what stories you allow to take up residence in your mind
Small steps. Consistently. That is how the frequency shifts.
"You choose your thoughts. You control the information that comes in. You control your reaction to that information."
What Your Birth Chart Reveals About Your Thought Patterns
Here is where astrology becomes a genuinely powerful tool for this work - not as fortune telling, but as a map of your inner operating system.
Every planet in your chart operates on a spectrum of frequency. Some placements make you more prone to certain thought loops. Some point directly to where your self-worth wounds live, where your nervous system is most reactive, and where your greatest potential for identity shifting waits.
Understanding your chart does not excuse your patterns. But it illuminates them. And illumination is always the first step toward change.
You Are a Broken Bone That Healed Stronger - But Words Deserve Attention Too
A broken bone heals. And often, it heals stronger at the point of the break. But that healing requires care, setting, time, and attention. You would never break a bone and simply ignore it.
Words deserve the same treatment. The moment someone's cruelty lands in your body - or your own inner critic says something cutting - that deserves acknowledgment. It deserves care. It deserves the conscious decision to not let that frequency become your address.
Before you leave a negative comment. Before you post something from a place of anger. Before you send that message - pause. Ask yourself what frequency you are adding to the field. Because whatever you put out, you are also living inside of. That negativity does not just travel outward. It circulates back.
A broken you, a depleted you, cannot contribute fully to the whole. Your healing is not selfish. It is essential.
