Everyone keeps talking about the great wealth transfer - the trillions set to move between generations as the baby boomers retire. But in true Bewitched & Bougie fashion, I want to take that conversation deeper. Because what I'm watching unfold astrologically, specifically with Saturn and Neptune moving into Aries, tells me we're not just on the edge of a financial shift. We're standing at the threshold of a knowledge renaissance.
And if you're not paying attention, you will miss it.
Saturn & Neptune in Aries: What This Transit Actually Means
To understand why mentorship is having a moment, you have to understand the planets behind it.
Neptune rules Pisces - the last sign of the zodiac. It carries the weight of all accumulated experience, all the wisdom gathered across every sign that came before it. Saturn is the wise elder of the solar system - the last visible planet before we cross the galactic bridge into Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. Saturn doesn't dream like Jupiter does. Here's something we don't talk about enough: COVID quietly severed one of the most powerful forms of professional development we had - proximity learning.
When we all went home, we lost the hallway conversations, the shadowing moments, the "watch how I handle this client" experiences that no Zoom call can replicate. That organic, osmosis-style transfer of knowledge got interrupted. And we are still feeling it.
Saturn and Neptune in Aries are, in part, a cosmic correction for that gap. The universe is nudging us back toward each other - back to apprenticeship, back to mentorship, back to the kind of learning that only happens when you're in the room.
How to Actually Pursue a Mentor (Without Coming Empty-Handed)
This is the part people get wrong. A mentor is not a free coach. The exchange is different and understanding that difference is everything.
A coach is someone you pay for structured guidance. A mentor is someone who pours into you because they see something in you - and because the exchange is mutual. So before you reach out, ask yourself: what do I bring to this?
If you're younger, your currency might be tech fluency, fresh perspectives, or simply the willingness to take things off their plate. If you're mid-career, it might be a complementary skill set or a network they don't have access to. Either way - come with something to offer.
A few things to keep in mind:
Be specific about what you're hoping to learn and why you chose them
Respect their time - it is their most valuable resource
Don't be discouraged if the timing isn't right. Plant the seed. Mentors remember who asked
Approach without judgment - they built their expertise in a different era, under different conditions. Honor that
"You're never too old to have a mentor. And you're never too young to become one."

The planets are setting the stage. Saturn and Neptune in Aries are calling us to close the gap between what was built and what's being born. To stop hoarding knowledge and start passing it forward. To stop waiting until we feel "ready enough" to ask for guidance.
